The Spring/Summer 2026 edition of Milan Fashion Week will take place from September 23 to 29, promising a packed schedule of events, highly anticipated debuts, and emotionally charged moments. The provisional calendar features 171 events, including 54 physical runway shows, 4 digital shows, 78 presentations, 7 by appointment, and 30 special events.
Giorgio Armani: Runway Shows Confirmed and a Special Exhibition in BreraThe Armani Group has confirmed that both Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani runway shows will go ahead as scheduled, presenting the final collections designed by the late Giorgio Armani, who passed away on September 4. As originally planned, a special exhibition will also open on September 24 at Milan’s Pinacoteca di Brera, marking the first time the historic museum will host a fashion-focused show.
According to an official statement, all initiatives will take place “in the spirit of commitment, respect, and dedication to work that have always defined Mr. Armani.” The exhibition will feature 150 archival looks, tracing the brand’s evolution decade by decade in a powerful and symbolic tribute to its founder.
Most Anticipated Creative DebutsThis season also marks the debut of several new creative directors at leading fashion houses. Dario Vitale steps in at Versace (although without a show), Louise Trotter debuts at Bottega Veneta, Simone Bellotti at Jil Sander, and Demna unveils his first collection for Gucci in a private event. The latter move was unexpected, as Demna had previously stated—after his final Balenciaga show—that his Gucci debut would be postponed until February 2026.
Iconic Names and Emerging Designers on the RunwayThe fashion week will officially open with a co-ed show by Diesel, followed by the return of Italy’s biggest names: Fendi, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, among others. Alongside these icons, a new wave of designers will also take the stage, including Giuseppe Di Morabito, Marco Rambaldi, and Francesco Murano.
On the digital front, Monday, September 29, will feature a lineup of livestreamed shows starting at 10:00 AM, including Maxivive, Mein Corp (the Italian label founded by Lorenzo Sala), Nadya Dzyak (a Ukrainian designer previously featured at London Fashion Week), and Zenam, already seen in the menswear schedule.
Milestone Anniversaries and CelebrationsBeyond the homage to Armani, this edition also marks other key milestones. Fendi will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a co-ed show on Wednesday, September 24, while Giorgio Armani will mark 50 years since the brand’s founding with a special show on Sunday, September 28 in the courtyard of Palazzo Brera. The event will showcase the new womenswear collection as well as selected menswear looks previously seen during the June shows.
Once again, Milan reaffirms its role as a global fashion capital, seamlessly blending innovation, tradition, and heartfelt tributes to its legacy. A season that looks boldly to the future—without forgetting where it came from.
